I have been trying to get my mind around the shootings at Virginia Tech. The TV and computer had been off in our house all day on Monday and I did not know what had happened until I went to the gym and all six televisions were showing various news reports from Virginia. I quickly plugged in my headphones, got the elliptical going and listened and cried.
I do not know anyone who goes to Virginia Tech. I don't even think I know anyone in Virginia. That does not change how I felt about this tragedy. I am so sad for the families of the young adults and professors who are killed and injured. I have prayed and prayed for them.
CORRECTION: As the world is a small place to live it, I do have friends in our Homeschool coop whose niece was killed at VT in Norris Hall. She was in the German class. She was a strong Christian who lived her life for Her Lord and a homeschool graduate. Please pray for the family of Lauren McCain.
I can not even begin to fathom how these families must feel....but I can pray and so I am.
Athena, I was agreeing with you all the way - it matters because it matters to God, not whether or not we know anyone. And then I sort of had a little gasp at your 'connection' to Lauren McCain. I've read much about her on different sites, I even watched I believe it was her father, saying he forgives the killer for doing this. Powerful fleshing out of the love of Christ. Much to pray about...
