This is my brother in the TCU shirt, Honey, Butch and Sundance at the Happiest Place on Earth. We had so much fun.Disney has been celebrating the 50th anniversery and everything was gorgeous. Everything was clean and the flowers were lovely. We got to ride the Teacups, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, Buzz Lightyear, Space Mountain, Indiana Jones, Tiki Room, on and on and on. We also went to California Adventure. It was a cool park. If you are looking for wild rides, this is not the place but Flight Over California, Tower of Terror and Muppets 3D were worth the trip. Toddler loved the Vrooms (Autopia) best. Butch loved Buzz Lightyear best. Sundance loved the Bear water ride at CA and we rode it twice. (pic thanks to Brother)
I am still in Vacation mode. I just don't want to come back to reality and since this is summer, I really don't have to. We can swim, play outside, sleep late and have little on the schedule. Tomorrow we start two weeks of swim lessons and I may just live in my suit since I have to get in the water with Toddler for his lessons.
I am in my element in the summer. I love to swim. I love to be outside. I love to read a book watching the kids play in the sprinkler. I love to eat hotdogs for dinner. I love baseball games. I love watermelon and cantelope. I love that it does not get dark until 9pm. I love sleeping late. I love sleeveless shirts. I love a tan. (I know it is bad for me but this is my blog and I am just being honest). I love eating outside. I love fireworks. I love vacations. I love sandals, flipflops and Tevas.
I remember the days when that is what summer meant. This summer actually feels busier than the school year. 3 Teenagers going in different directions - looking for jobs, doing fundraisers for missions trips, college prep, drivers' ed., Korea... It's a unique season of life. I love it, but a good book while the kids run through the sprinkler, or eating a popsicle on the porch while we watch the hummingbirds sure sounds nice. *sigh*

I love summer time too. Now, I have my kids home all the time now but before homeschooling it was "MY TIME" with my kids. I love the laziness of summer and hate when we get too busy.
Enjoy your summer!

I love how your little one calls Autopia "Vrooms. That is the cutest. As a past Disneyland Cast Member i love hearing (or reading) about families getting to enjoy the magic there. They make for great memories!

I'm glad your crew had a great vacation! Yes, I've been thinking the same things, how nice summer-time is. For me it means lots of time playing in the dirt too. But my kids are gardening alongside me, and that's been so enjoyable. I've been so sore though, from all the work, and thinking how nice: I'm getting a good work-out each day, AND the tan, and will soon have some organic produce to boot! Yes, it's a lovely time of year.
blessings!
