I posted a few days ago about how blessed it is to be a stay at home mom and how it is God's calling in my life. Yesterday, one of our Amblesideonline moms, Missey , went to be with the Lord following an emergency C-section where some amniotic fluid leaked into her bloodstream and caused a clot. She never left the operating table. She leaves behind five children, ages 11 to a newborn and a loving husband, Tom.
The day before her surgery she blogged about her bed rest and her care for her children. Her life was devoted to this family and their well being. You can read her blog here. What struck me as ironic is that I think that the author of the Mommy Battle would never understand how this mother has influenced so many lives and not just in her hometown. With the technology today, we are able to share our lives and our families with each other even though sometimes we only know each others screen names or blog rolls. I feel no less sad than if it were my next door neighbor.
What saddens me thought is if it were my neighbor, I could bake a ham and sweep the floor and play with the children and show God's love to this family. I could wrap my arms around them and let them know they are not alone and that we love and care for them. This is what sets us as Christians apart. We love each other not because of something but in spite of anything. We love each other because it is Christ who loved us first. We can have a hope in meeting each other in Heaven though we may never meet on Earth.
Please lift Tom and his children up in your prayers tonight and for the next few weeks. I believe God met Missey and told her, "Well done thy good and faithful servent."
We are certainly praying for Tom and their children...how it's saddened my dh and I so...*sighs*

This is so devastating. I can't imagine being filled with hope and expectation and then losing your life partner. I am speechless. What can we do?
