Eugene H. Peterson: A Long Obedience in the Same Direction: Discipleship in an Instant Society
Life changing. A study of The Psalms of Ascent. IF there were more than 5 stars, this would get 10. (*****)
Blue Like Jazz
Excellent in the line, the male Anne Lamont. (*****)
Donna Tartt: A Secret History
Also for mature audiences but a wonderful mystery and look at human nature. (*****)
Khaled Hosseini: The Kite Runner
Another should read. I really had some preconceived ideas about immigrants and Middle Eastern people that have been changed. (*****)
Jennifer Weiner : Good in Bed
Mature audiences only but a good story. (****)
Larry Watson: Montana 1948
(****)
Cornelia Funke: Inkheart
(****)
Michael Crichton: Airframe
Have you ever gotten half way through a book and realized you'd read it before?
Jhumpa Lahiri: The Namesake
Loved this and am not sure why. It is a universal story about discontent and finding contentment. Descriptions are brilliant. I could smell the curry. (*****)
If you like Scrabble you have to try the game Upwords. It is one of our favorite games around here. It is a lot of fun unless you have a problem getting beat by an 11 year old!
