This summer our family changed churches from a 5000+ member self proclaimed mega-church to a 150 member mainstream traditional church. (check out our website, I am the Webmistress) The change has been nothing but wonderful for our family and we have found a place to serve God, our church and our town in this church. My children are thriving and love going to church. The teaching is rich in Bible Study and the members are committed to the Lord. There is a sweet Spirit that is evident in our congregation.
Since early August, our church has embarked on a building campaign to build a move our church to another part of our town that does not have a church near . The land is already paid for but the building will be pricy. We have had many events for our campaign; phone calls, spiritual preparedness, banquets, special talks and brochures. Today we collected our commitment cards and we surpassed our Victory goal. I cried. Some people were worried that we would not even reach this goal but God is faithful to our prayers and this goal was met.
It was such a beautiful service. The music was worshipful, the prayers were from the heart, the sermon was one of the best I have heard our pastor give. I know all worship should point us to God and todays definitely did. God was truly present.
